Follow instructions below to bake Fikamix delicious Swedish Sweet Cardamom Rusks
Preparation 30 minutes, total 4-5 hours
Heat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line baking tray with baking sheet (included).
In medium bowl, put baking mix and butter. Use fingers to work butter into mix. Add milk and egg to form a dough (the dough is dry in the beginning, but just continue to stir/knead until all the flour is incorporated). Divide dough into 2 pieces and, using the palm of the hand, roll each piece into a 40 cm (15 inches) long log. Place on baking sheet, included, and bake for 15 minutes in the middle of the oven.
While still warm, slice each log into 20 equally sized pieces/rusks. Place rusks close together on baking sheet, with the cut edge upward. Toast until they have a nice golden colour, about 7-8 minutes. Remove from oven and lower heat to 70°C (160°F).
When oven heat has dropped to the correct temperature, place rusks back in oven and let them dry for 3-5 hours until they are completely dry and crispy. Store in airtight container.
